We are the parents (Greek and Italian) of an 8 year old autistic girl and we are looking for someone to take her out to play and generally babysit her, starting now, here in Athens, but then moving to London with us in 2-3 months.

Initially the babysitter will be coming to our home in Athens for a few hours in the afternoon 4 -5 days a week (we will pay 7 euros/hour) during May, June and July, but at the end of July we will be moving permanently to London, and we wish our babysitter to join us there with a contract similar to an au-pair.

This means that she will keep on babysitting our daughter there for about 7 hours a day, 5-6 days a week, she will have her own bedroom in our house/flat in central London plus meals, and we will also pay her about £80 Pounds/95 Euro every week . These hours will be ongoing during the summer, from the end of July to about October, when our daughter may be able to start her special school, and when her school will start, the hours will be diminishing to about 4 hours a day and be mostly in the afternoon and weekends, and the babysitter will have the morning free. This collaboration with us in England can last according to the babysitter’s preferences, from a minimum of 4 months up to one year or more. The exact hours are also negotiable. Our daughter is lively but very sweet and affectionate, and we hope that you will enjoy looking after her. We are looking for someone with some previous experience of looking after an autistic child, or at least of babysitting children in general, and preferably with some knowledge of PECS or ABA. You will also need to be able to communicate in English. This is a great opportunity that will suit someone wishing to study a relevant subject in London or perhaps gain experience in autism while enjoying what London has to offer. We are a loving and caring family and you will have every support from us. We prefer females over 20 years old and non-smokers but all applicants will be considered. You will need to provide us with references from a family with a child you looked after in the past (autistic or not) or from an autism intervention centre you have worked in.
